Motion City Soundtrack’s new album Go will be out the 15th of June, but over the next few days you can hear a few Australian exclusive previews of the tracks and watch the band talking about recording the album right here on FasterLouder.
Their previous album, the Mark Hoppus produced My Dinosaur Life, was released through Columbia Records, but the band has new started their own label, The Boombox Generation, and will be releasing their new record in partnership with their old bosses at Epitaph Records.
Guitarist Joshua Cain says that after finishing the album and previewing to for several labels returning to Epitaph just seemed to make sense. “We finally had our meeting with Epitaph and were like, ‘This is the place we should be. This is our family,” says Cain. “There’s way too much history”.
The band was part of the Soundwave festival tour in both 2008 and 2010, but failed to continue the pattern with a visit for the 2012 edition of the festival. Perhaps next year, eh?
